(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koichi Naruse) and Panasonic Corporation Electric Works aim to create a “better today and a better future” through the
transformation of “living infrastructure.” We have selected five companies for the 1st Batch* of the 2024 program of “Panasonic Accelerator by Electric Works Company,” which is operated with the aim of creating new businesses through co-creation with startups. *Batch: Refers to the group of companies selected for the 2024 program. Until last year, the program only accepted applications from startups for two months a year, but starting with this year’s program, which is in its fourth year, the program has switched to a year-round, full-time recruitment model. As a result, the following two benefits have been realized for companies that wish to collaborate with Panasonic. ・Selection period has been significantly shortened Until last year, all applying companies were screened at the same time, so the selection process took about four months for long-standing companies. This year, we are screening applications one by one, and we are now able to make selection decisions within two months. ・Increased chances of applicant companies being selected Until last year, because there was a fixed selection period, we sometimes had to give up on introducing people to multiple business departments that exceeded the schedule. This year, the selection period has been made more flexible, allowing for opportunities for introductions and discussions with multiple business departments, increasing the chances of applicants being selected. Successful results have been achieved with past selected companies, including projects that have continued for multiple years and service launches. This year as well, we will work with selected companies to conceptualize and verify co-created ideas, with the aim of commercializing and implementing them in society.
