The stage for the Season 6 workshop is Minamidori, Akita City. In Sinahan, we interviewed people in the shopping district, unearthed local resources such as the town’s history and unique shops, and brainstormed story ideas based on keywords associated with the town. Director Hayato Sasahara drew out the students’ sensibilities, and based on the keywords that emerged, the director created the basis for the scenario. During the subsequent location scouting, the worldview of the work was refined. And the director, who was inspired by the sensibilities of Akita Public Art University students who were participating in Sinahan and location scouting, was in charge of creating the art that appears in the movie! Four students created deer, weapons, scripts, and other items. The actual shooting took place in the middle of winter in February. In the freezing cold and snow, they used real equipment to film and perform, and their eyes sparkled as they took on the challenge of filming.
