The Ritz-Carlton Osaka (Location: 2-5-25 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka, General Manager: Mark Neukom) will be awarded to environmentally friendly hotels and restaurants on Friday, November 8, 2024. We are the first accommodation facility in the Kansai region to receive the international eco-label “Green Key.” “Green Key” is an international eco-label that originated in Denmark in 1994 and is given to environmentally friendly accommodation facilities. This certification can be obtained by meeting the certification criteria within the evaluation items, which consist of 13 categories, 75 essential items, and 75 effort items, as determined by the International Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), headquartered in Denmark. Currently, more than 6,000 facilities in more than 70 countries have obtained this certification, including 6 facilities in Japan. It is recognized as a symbol of environmental protection, as evidenced by the fact that the property has been evaluated for its environmental policy and sustainable management. In order to provide our guests with heartfelt hospitality, comfort, and a relaxing moment that feels like staying in a home away from home, our entire organization strives to reduce our environmental impact and We have worked hard to preserve it. Examples include gradually switching to energy-saving lighting, utilizing renewable energy, etc., saving water and properly managing wastewater, and limiting the use of synthetic detergents, chemical pesticides, and fertilizers.
