Keynote Speech: “Thinking about domestic violence damage and its support – Children then…” Kuniko Muramoto (Professor, Graduate School of Human Sciences, Ritsumeikan University) Professor at Ritsumeikan University, Ph.D. After working as a clinical psychologist and counselor at a psychiatric clinic, established the Women’s Life Cycle Research Institute in 1990. Works on clinical trauma such as abuse, sexual violence, domestic violence, war, and disasters. Professor at Ritsumeikan University since 2001. In 2002, he established the NPO Network for Creating a Community of Peace of Mind and Connections, and has been working on projects such as visitation support and domestic violence support for mothers and children. Author of many books, including “Violent Victims and Women – Understanding, Escape, and Recovery” (Showado, 2001).
Symposium “Diverse forms of support for children from domestic violence families” Panelist • Kuniko Muramoto (Professor, Graduate School of Human Sciences, Ritsumeikan University) • Toshiki Kitamura Mr. (Children’s Home Kyoto Seijikai Men’s Division Chief) Graduated from the Department of Social Welfare, Faculty of Humanities, Shuchiin University. Member of the Kyodo Council for Social Welfare Corporation Kyodo Employment Continuation Support Office. In her current position, she utilizes her field experience to concurrently serve as a family social worker and independence support coordinator. Now in his 21st year, he is handing over the work to his successor, going into the field and developing human resources. We hope to create an environment that can provide a wide range of support for people with experience in social care, and we use our unique support system to support people from the age of 2 to almost 50, both while they are in the facility and after they leave the facility. • Miki Sakamoto (Representative of DVGs Lab) Graduated from Ryukoku University Graduate School of Policy Studies, representative of DVGs Lab, staff member of Kyoto NPO Center, researcher of Social Certification Development Promotion Organization. At graduate school, he researched the current situation of domestic violence victims and the creation of a functional environment for various support measures from the perspective of domestic violence victims, and wrote his master’s thesis. Currently, she is working with various networks including victims, supporters, and researchers to find ways to create a supportive environment for women in the same situation. Facilitator • Kazuko Saito (Managing Director, Social Certification Development Promotion Organization) Completed graduate school at Boston University, USA. Learn the science of managing nonprofit organizations. Graduated from Kyoto Women’s University, Graduate School of Contemporary Society, Doctoral Program, Department of Public Sphere Creation. Managing Director and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Social Certification Development Promotion Organization (General Incorporated Foundation). Involved in the operation of social care-related facilities nationwide and as a third-party evaluation researcher of welfare services in Kyoto Prefecture. In addition, she takes part in stage performances such as readings and plays, and provides guidance and support for expressive activities from the perspective of teachers and children working in educational settings.
