GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz was formed around GACKT in March 2010, 14 years ago. It was called YFCz for short. On March 21, 2010, it was first performed at the male-only live show “GACKT Kira☆Yutokojuku ~Otokojo Onna Hihadaai Festival~” held at Kawasaki Club Citta. After that, from June to August, the group held a domestic tour titled “GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz Kira☆Yuutoko Juku ~Mixed Men and Women Hada Festival~” with 24 performances in 6 cities, starting with Zepp Tokyo. In July of the same year, they held an EU tour with 5 performances in 4 locations in the UK, France, Spain, and Germany, and the following year, in July 2011, they held an EU tour that visited 13 cities in 9 countries. However, on July 4, 2012, the year after the Great East Japan Earthquake, they held a breakup concert at Nippon Budokan and ended their activities. YFCz suddenly made a comeback as the new GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz at “Kishidan Expo 2024 ~Shin Kishidan Banpaku~” held at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Center yesterday, November 10th!

When GACKT went up to YFCz’s customary stand and shouted, “Tonight is a festival. Go wild!”, the voltage of the fans who had been waiting for 12 years suddenly reached a climax. The fans in the front row shook their heads back and forth as they listened to the intense intro beat. Depending on the scene, the members form a beautiful formation with left-right symmetry and move in sync. With the masks they wore and their unique hairstyles, I felt like I was watching a well-planned show rather than just a rock band. The second song is “JUSTIFIED”. In the intro, GACKT shouted, “Will you dance with me? Shout until you run out of voice!”, and the fans responded as well. The guitar solo is a beautiful melody played by triple guitars, and the chorus is GACKT’s beautiful falsetto. Yes, GACKT doesn’t just scream at rock concerts. Her beautiful falsetto is also worth listening to. The third song is “SPEED MASTER”. As you can see from the song title, it’s a song full of speed. The solo part is a guitar solo that makes full use of MiA’s right hand and fast picking. And then there was DAICHI’s bass solo, which attacked violently with his slap playing style. Although the new YFCz members are young, they showed off their technique to the audience. The fourth song is “EVER”. This song also has a beautiful symmetrical band formation and synchronized movements that are pleasing to watch, and the chorus uses flash-like lighting to further heighten the tension of the beat. In the guitar solo, YOHIO and HIROTO harmonize in the first half, and YOHIO and MiA harmonize in the second half, and the composition is beautifully calculated. And finally, “JESUS”. During the part where they shouted “HEY!” in the chorus, GACKT, the members, and the audience waved their hands, the lights were synchronized, and the whole venue became one and excited, and YFCz’s stage came to a close.
