Ryohin Keikaku provides products and services that enrich daily lives, with the aim of supporting the basics of daily life in order to realize a “pleasant life and society.” Since our creation in 1980, we have continued to create products while adhering to three perspectives: “selection of materials,” “inspection of processes,” and “simplification of packaging.” We have recently changed the container of unsweetened tea, which is currently sold in aluminum cans, to a PET bottle made from 100% recycled raw materials, so that it has a refreshing and refreshing taste with even more aroma of tea leaves. We also reviewed the manufacturing method. We have also updated the tea leaves and flavors we use, as well as reviewed the capacity and price, resulting in a total of nine types of unsweetened tea. In April 2021, we completely renewed our beverage bottles to aluminum cans, which have a high recycling rate, from the perspective of resource recycling, but we have continued to consider bottles that can both reduce environmental impact and make beverages taste better. Starting with this change to the unsweetened tea bottle, we will gradually change the bottles for each beverage. *2 *1 Greenhouse gases emitted during the life cycle of MUJI beverage aluminum cans and PET bottles made from 100% recycled raw materials, from raw material procurement to recycling processing (excluding warehousing, sales, and usage stages) (GHG) emissions were calculated by our company. Beverage renewal points This time, we changed all nine types of unsweetened tea bottles to recycled PET bottles, and also reviewed the flavor lineup. The newly added “Roasted Green Tea Using Bar Hoji” has been made with a review of the tea leaves and manufacturing method, resulting in a tea with a richer flavor and aroma. We have revised the capacity and price of the 3 types of unsweetened tea, including “Marihana Tea Made with Gingo Tea Leaves” and
“Non-Caffeinated Barley Tea,” so that they can be chosen as a daily standard among unsweetened teas. 500ml will be sold for 90 yen including tax instead of 120 yen including tax. In addition, “Non-Caffeine Rooibos & Ginger” features a spicy aroma that combines flavorful red rooibos made from fermented tea leaves with ginger from Kochi Prefecture. We will continue to sell coffee and tea beverages in aluminum cans because the wide mouth of current aluminum cans allows you to enjoy the aroma through your nose, and because hot sales are possible. Additionally, next spring, we plan to switch to recycled PET bottles for carbonated drinks so that customers can enjoy the refreshing taste even more.
