This concept was inspired by the majestic Osaka Castle. This year’s Illuminage expresses that world view, recalling the Sengoku period and focusing on the fascinating historical value of Osaka Castle. This epic story introduced Osaka Castle, which embodies the splendor and historical value of Japanese culture, to the world and aroused new recognition and interest in Japan. This illumination, which allows visitors to experience the historical value of Osaka Castle, which was decorated with the true charm of the Sengoku period, will move viewers and provide an immersive experience that will make you feel as if you have stepped into that era. This year, in addition to the helmet collection, we have created a large-scale exhibition that includes full-length samurai warriors and ships from the time. This is a great opportunity for you to experience once again the splendor of Japanese culture, with a production that will make you feel as if you have stepped into the world of the Warring States era. Many tourists from overseas visit here and are sure to be fascinated by Osaka Castle and its history. Furthermore, continuing from last year, we will be rolling out the “Osaka Illumination Sightseeing Spots Series,” which expresses Osaka’s popular tourist spots with illuminations. Famous landmarks and historic sites that symbolize Osaka, such as Tsutenkaku, temples, and markets, will be colorfully decorated. The

Introducing a life-sized “Illumination Ship” modeled after the “Nanban Ships” that visited Japan from the Muromachi period to the Edo period. Visitors can enter and walk around the ship, which is bathed in magical light. Enjoy an immersive experience that will make you feel as if you have traveled back in time and sailed along the coast of Japan during the Edo period.
