Kurimoto Gakuen Educational Corporation Press release: November 12, 2024 Nagoya University of Commerce Brass Band Symphonic Ensemble 38th Regular Concert ~Christmas Concert~ will be held on Wednesday, December 18th Under the guidance of technical advisor and conductor Uichi Kajiyama, the Nagoya University of Commerce Brass Band will hold its 38th Christmas Concert on Wednesday, December 18th at the Niterra Nippon Tokushu Ceramics Civic Center Village Hall. We will hold regular concerts. The concert will feature Professor Kajiyama’s mentor, Dr. Richard Fisher, who serves as the permanent conductor of Concordia University of Chicago and is active as a guest conductor and lecturer around the world, as a guest conductor, marking the culmination of the past year. We will deliver a concert suitable for you. The brass band won the “Gold Prize” at the Aichi Prefecture Wind Band Competition held on August 4th, and has qualified for the Tokai Tournament for the second consecutive year. This is an excellent student group that represents Nagoya University of Commerce, not only in competitions, but also in consolation performances for local communities, commissioned performances, and performances at university events such as entrance ceremonies and graduation ceremonies. The concert incorporated a variety of genres, from classical music to pop music that has become popular on SNS, movie music, and Christmas songs. Won the Best Percussion Award. Received the Distinguished Service Award from his alma mater in 2022. Recognized for many years of achievements. Currently, he is a lecturer at Nagoya University of Commerce, Nagoya College of Music, and Aichi Institute of Technology Meiden High School, and also focuses on judging and teaching international competitions in Europe, America, and Asian countries.
