Together with Professor Natsu Shirasaka of the Keio University Graduate School of System Design and Management, as well as experts and entrepreneurs both inside and outside the space industry, we will create an opportunity to take on the challenge of a new field: space.
History/background of the event ALTILAN was established in May of this year and has been working towards creating space business starting in the Hamamatsu area. In June, we held our first large-scale event, “From Hamamatsu to Space – The manufacturing industry is connected to space,” as an opportunity to increase understanding and interest in the space business, and create opportunities for entry into the space business (co-sponsored by Co. -Co-startup Space & Community FUSE, special cooperation: SPACETIDE general incorporated association, support: Hamamatsu City). This event, which will be held for the second time, will focus even more on “region x manufacturing x space” than the last time. We will invite people from venture companies who continue to take on challenges in the areas of space and
manufacturing, experts who lead the creation of innovation from a systematic academic field, and people from the media who have a bird’s-eye view of space business. By inviting experts in learning and co-creation, we will encourage companies from so-called
non-space/different industries to take on new challenges. It is said that the space industry will exceed 100 trillion yen worldwide in 2040, and aggressive policies and investments have begun in Japan, including the creation of the Space Strategic Fund. ALTILAN is also expanding its space business to Shizuoka Prefecture (Hamamatsu City).
