Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1985, Yamawaki graduated from the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts and has held numerous exhibitions both domestically and internationally. His career gained attention with the exhibition BEYOND THE BORDER, Tangram Art Center (Shanghai). He has exhibited with internationally active painters Zhou Tiehai, Toeko Tatsuno, and photographer Yuki Onodera, and in recent years has participated in group exhibitions with Daido Moriyama and Tomoo Gokita, including the new stadium of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. In the “HOKKAIDO BALLPARK F VILLAGE” area, a large-scale work over 2 meters was exhibited to the public. Yamawaki is preparing for this exhibition, hoping to create fresh works. I have a desire to draw something called ‘imaginary’, so I keep drawing gates and holes. Rather than the gates and holes themselves, the true meaning and reality lies in something contained within them (the tip of the gate, inside the hole, etc.), and for Yamawaki, painting the imaginary means reflecting this on the canvas. It means to do something. The animal faces he has drawn so far are similar to the gates and holes mentioned earlier, and he has almost no interest in expressing animal species or emotions. What I wanted to draw was ‘something’ beyond that motif. With the desire to clarify that ‘something’ through paintings and present it to the viewer, I chose the title of this exhibition as ‘entrance’ as a general term for anything that invites people to go beyond. We hope that you will be able to see a new side of Yamawaki at the venue. *The works exhibited in this exhibition will be sold exclusively at ArtSticker. *Sales will be accepted from 8:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024 on a “first come, first served” basis. *If you would like a price list before the exhibition period, please visit Here Please contact us. *Please note that sales of exhibited works may end before the start of the exhibition period depending on the pre-sales situation.

We aim to become an art space open to the city in the center of Tokyo, where urban development with a focus on art and culture is progressing. The location is on the 1st floor of TODA BUILDING, which opened on November 2, 2024, where Toda Construction Co., Ltd. is developing various art programs based on the concept of “ART POWER KYOBASHI.” The space was designed by DDAA Co., Ltd. (head office location: Meguro-ku, Tokyo), led by architect Daisuke Motoki. In a luxurious space reminiscent of a museum designed for art, we will shine a spotlight on artists who are looking forward to the future. We have also set up a bakery and cafe inside the art space where you can soak up the afterglow of viewing the art and discuss your impressions. It is a special space where you can not only admire the artwork, but also have a conversation with someone while enjoying a meal.
