This is an initiative to help people discover the joy of sports that suit their characteristics (Oshi Sports). What is the Tokyo Metropolitan Sports Culture Foundation? The purpose of the Tokyo Metropolitan Sports Culture Corporation is to spread and promote sports among Tokyo residents. It is a public interest incorporated foundation. Currently, we are in charge of operating four metropolitan sports facilities: Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Komazawa Olympic Park General Sports Complex, Tokyo Budokan, and Tokyo Aquatics Center, and we hold various sporting events at each facility. In addition, we operate Tokyo’s sports information portal site “SPOPITA”, which disseminates a wide range of content such as information on sports facilities and events in Tokyo, as well as projects in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, such as international sports exchange projects and projects to promote cooperation between metropolitan sports facilities. We are promoting activities to help Tokyo residents live a rich life through sports. Our organization is also responsible for preparations for the Deaflympics Games scheduled to be held in Tokyo in 2025. As an organization that plays a central role in sports administration in Tokyo, we will continue to aim to create a “Sports Field Tokyo” where sports are integrated into daily life, with the slogan “Create the future of Tokyo through sports,” and to make everyone familiar with sports. We will strive to create an environment where sports can take place and foster an effective sports movement.
