energy-efficient GaN-based power devices to enable environmentally friendly electronics. Cambridge GaN Devices (CGD) has partnered with Taiwan’s QRVO, a leading global provider of connectivity and power solutions, to develop the PAC5556A ICeGaN(R), which brings together industry-leading motor control and power efficiency technologies. We provide an evaluation kit (EVK). The partnership combines Qorvo’s high-performance BLDC/PMSM motor controller/driver and CGD’s easy-to-use ICeGaN(R) IC on a single board, significantly improving motor control applications. Andrea Bricconi | Chief Marketing Officer, CGD “Combining industry-leading solutions from both highly skilled companies, this EVK enables the development of compact,
energy-efficient systems with high power density. It easily interfaces with motor control ICs for seamless high performance in BLDC and PMSM applications.” Jeff Strang | General Manager, Power Management Business Unit, Qorvo “Wide bandgap semiconductors such as GaN and SiC are being integrated into motor control applications due to their power density and efficiency advantages. CGD’s ICeGaN technology provides two important components for motor control and motor drive designers. “Qorvo’s highly integrated PAC5556A 600V BLDC motor control solution combined with powerful GaN has been well received by our customers.” Powered by CGD’s latest generation P2 IC and featuring 240 mΩ ICeGaN, the PAC5556AEVK2 evaluation kit achieves peak performance of up to 400W without a heat sink. Additionally, the PAC5556AEVK3, which uses 55 mΩ ICeGaN, achieves peak performance of 800W with minimal air cooling. The adoption of high-efficiency ICeGaN reduces power loss, improves power delivery capacity, and minimizes heat dissipation, resulting in smaller systems and improved reliability. ICeGaN integrates critical current sensing and Miller clamp
components, simplifying gate driver design and reducing BOM cost. Therefore, this solution is easy to implement, competitively priced, and has high performance. The PAC5556A CGD GaN EVK provides high torque and precise control at low speeds, making it ideal for white goods, ceiling fans, refrigerators, compressors, and pumps. Target markets include industrial automation and home automation, where compact and highly efficient motor control systems are particularly required. PAC5556AEVK2 and AC5556AEVK3 are available on Qorvo’s website. break:break-all;” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow ugc noopener”> You can order .
