“extinguishes itself” is attracting attention. “K/SMOKE” can extinguish a fire by itself in the early stages and prevent damage from spreading. The decision has been made to introduce this new fire prevention measure to the Somotozan Daigoji Temple, which is a historical heritage site with a history of fires, and will protect this valuable cultural property into the future. Yamato Protech proposes the installation of “K/SMOKE” in locations where conventional fire extinguishing equipment such as sprinklers cannot be installed. In order to contribute to the spread of new fire prevention methods to protect important cultural properties and historical assets, we will contribute to the protection of cultural properties by providing them throughout Japan. ■Motoyama Daigoji Temple General Affairs Department Maintenance Division Comment from Tatsuji Kawaminami The history of Toyama dates back to the early Heian period. There are approximately 150,000 temple treasures that have been protected since ancient times and the Middle Ages, and a huge number of national treasures and important cultural properties. In 1994, it was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site. It is our mission to protect these cultural assets and pass them on to future generations. I was convinced that “K/SMOKE” would help with that, and decided to introduce it. Fire prevention measures are essential to protect cultural properties. In the event of a fire, the K/SMOKE PANEL/DEVICE (no power supply type) will automatically release the chemical, reducing the time required for human intervention. One of the deciding factors for introducing “K/SMOKE” was that there was little contamination after the fire was extinguished. It is because we have constantly tried innovative things that we have been able to protect and pass on our prayers and culture for 1150 years. With the new initiative of introducing “K/SMOKE,” we will pass on our tradition to the next generation. ■Collaborating with Shin Miura Architectural Design Office to create “K/SMOKE” that does not spoil the landscape In cooperation with Shin Miura Architectural Design Office, we created a special version of “K/SMOKE” to protect the main hall of Daigoji Temple from fire. This initiative leverages the flexible shape of K/SMOKE to achieve effective fire prevention measures without damaging the landscape.

It was built at the end of the Heian period. Fire prevention measures will be taken with the structures produced by Mr. Miura. Shin Miura (Architect) Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1995 and completed graduate school at the same university in 1997. Afterwards, after working as an assistant at the same university, he established the “Shin Miura Architectural Design Office”. We design a wide variety of spaces, from small homes to museums, welfare facilities, and integrated resorts with an area of over 500,000 square meters. Representative works include “Shibuyasan Tofukuji Nirvana Hall” in Shibuya Ward, “Mori no Ie” in Karuizawa Town, “Okada Museum of Art” in Hakone Town, “Nikkete Tote Ichikawa” in Ichikawa City, and “Nirvana Hall” in Manila, Philippines. Okada Manila”, etc. In addition, in 2021, in collaboration with Yamashita Sekkei Co., Ltd., we received the highest award in the Karuizawa Town New Government Building Design Proposal. ■“K/SMOKE” introduction location

Install K/SMOKE PANEL/DEVICE (no power supply type) on the control panel etc. in the disaster prevention center. Responds to electrical fires caused by short circuits, lightning strikes, etc. ■About Daigoji Temple Daigoji Temple is the head temple of the Daigo sect of Shingon Buddhism, which continues to exude its majesty for 1150 years. It is located in the Yamashina Basin, southeast of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and has a vast precinct of 2 million tsubo. It was founded by Shoho Rigen Daishi in the early Heian period, and since then it has received the devotion of many emperors and empresses, and magnificent temples have been planned and built. 75,537 National Treasures and 430 Important Cultural Properties* have been designated by the government, and in 1994, it was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site as a “Historical Property of Ancient Kyoto.” *As of 2020 ■About “K/SMOKE” “K/SMOKE” is a revolutionary fire extinguisher that releases the potassium compound as a fire extinguishing ingredient as a gas and quickly extinguishes fires by breaking the chain of combustion through a chemical reaction. By transforming it into various shapes, it becomes possible to respond to all kinds of fires. Feature 1 Safe for the human body We have developed the world’s first fire extinguishing agent whose main ingredient is potassium, which is harmless to the human body. The extinguishing agent has been tested in accordance with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) toxicity testing guidelines. It has been confirmed to be safe for health. Feature 2 Environmentally friendly The fire extinguisher has zero global warming potential and zero ozone depletion potential. Compared to the existing one, It is
environmentally friendly with less pollution. Also, by downsizing the equipment, carbon dioxide emissions during the manufacturing and construction process can be reduced. Feature 3: Light and compact design with excellent fire extinguishing ability Demonstrates excellent fire extinguishing ability with a small amount of
extinguishing agent! Achieves the same fire extinguishing ability with approximately 1/15 the chemical amount of nitrogen fire extinguishing equipment. Feature 4 Significantly reduces construction and
maintenance period The equipment is simplified and the burden of construction and maintenance is significantly reduced. Since the extinguishing agent is produced domestically, we can expect a stable supply. Also, since it does not fall under the Explosives Control Law, there are no restrictions on its manufacture, sale, transportation, or use. (Act No. 149 of 1950) ■“K/SMOKE” product lineup ・K/SMOKE PANEL A thin and light sheet-like fire extinguishing agent. When the temperature exceeds 300℃, a gaseous extinguishing agent is
automatically released. It was released as an innovative fire extinguishing agent that extinguishes fires quickly and unattended. ・K/SMOKE SLURRY A fluid slurry in which particles of extinguishing agent are suspended in the liquid is Because it is a high viscosity liquid, it can be applied to various locations. ・K/SMOKE DEVICE Big fire extinguishing power in a small body! Easy to install as there is no power supply. No plumbing or power work required at all. It can be installed simply by screwing the main body. ・K/SMOKE GAS This is a new generation gas fire extinguishing equipment that is harmless to the human body, environmentally friendly, and space saving. ・K/SMOKE LIQUID Forest fires are increasing in scale around the world. Protect precious lives and property This is an unprecedented, revolutionary fire extinguishing agent created to achieve coexistence with the natural environment. Product introduction page:
