Since this recyclable suit was completed, we invited branch staff to tour the Bishu factory in order to spread the Wear Shift initiative within the company. The participants deepened their understanding by seeing for themselves how recycled clothing is turned into fabric. Once again, we would like to help our customers understand our efforts so that they can feel free to bring their unwanted clothing to our stores, and we hope to continue to strengthen our efforts to reduce our environmental impact. ■“Wearshift” declaration copy Special site: https://tinyurl.com/s9tpdbhb

Almost the entire amount is recycled and reused, and the recycled products are mainly reused as insulation materials for cars and cushioning materials for luggage. In addition, in response to the increase in natural disasters in recent years, in 2018 we created a “disaster prevention blanket” (recycled blanket for disaster relief) made from recycled suits. Initially, the blankets were stockpiled and stored as disaster relief blankets, but from 2019, we started using blankets in Sado City, Niigata Prefecture, Amami City, Kagoshima Prefecture, Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture, etc., with the hope that they would be useful as preparations before disasters occur. *A total of 2,200 tickets have been donated to 11 local governments (as of the end of October 2024). Additionally, starting in fiscal 2021, we have started an initiative to donate 2.5 yen per kilogram to the forest conservation organization “More Trees” based on the amount collected. We will donate 874,930 yen in 2022 and 888,588 yen in 2023.
