We will hold Mitochari test rides, bicycle traffic rules XX quizzes, giveaways for those who come to the history museum by bicycle, and free bicycle inspections. By inviting many people to visit the museum on bicycles and learning about bicycle traffic rules and the convenience of mitochari while enjoying the rows of ginkgo trees with bright yellow leaves, we hope to create an opportunity for them to ride bicycles safely and happily. ■Ibaraki University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences project exercise “Pottering Project in Mito (MPP)” team As part of the “Project Exercise” class at Ibaraki University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, we are a student team working to revitalize the use of bicycles in Mito city from the perspective of university students in Mito city. We are promoting the use of Mitochari through social media, videos, and creating pottering maps. ■What is Mito City share cycle “Mitochari”? This is a bicycle share service started by Mito City with the aim of making it easier to get around town and providing a means of transportation for the last mile after getting off the bus or train. Unlike regular bicycle rentals, shared bicycles have multiple stations (bicycle parking lots) and you can freely rent and return bicycles at any station, making it easy to travel short distances or just one way. You can use it. As of November 2024, there are over 40 Mitochari Stations, which are also recommended for walks around Mito Station and Lake Senba.

In addition, student staff from the MPP team will support you in registering the app “HELLO CYCLING” to use Mitochari. (2) Bicycle traffic rules〇×quiz In order to enjoy and safely ride a bicycle, you can check your understanding of bicycle traffic rules. Quiz participants will receive JAF goods such as reflective materials. (3) Those who visit the museum by bicycle and view the special exhibition will receive a novelty gift At the booth, you can get a photo of your bicycle parked in the history museum’s bicycle parking lot (smartphone screens are also accepted) and a ticket stub for the 50th anniversary special exhibition “Masterpieces, Thrills – Half a Century of History Museums.” Those who present it will receive an original museum sticker. During the special exhibition period, we are also offering JAF app coupons that reduce the general admission fee from 690 yen to 550 yen.
