Kameoka beef competed very well at the fair. Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture (Mayor: Takahiro Katsuragawa) will be presenting Kyoto brand beef to the Kinki-Tokai-Hokuriku Union Beef Cattle Exhibition, one of the best fairs in Japan, held in Kobe City on Sunday, November 10, 2020. We are pleased to announce that 12 heads of “Kameoka Beef” were exhibited, and Kameoka Beef Producers received 2 excellent awards (6th place overall) in the steer category (2nd division). At this fair, 100 head of carefully selected branded beef, including Japan’s three major Wagyu beef, were exhibited, and the high quality of Kameoka beef’s meat was highly praised. This is the 11th time we have won an award at the competition, including two awards in the past five years. It has been decided that a TV program will be broadcast about the appeal of Kameoka beef.

More than 100 cows are exhibited each year, and they are divided into the 1st category (few cows) and the 2nd category (steers), with 9 cows in each category winning prizes (Grand Prize, Excellence Award 1-3 seats, Excellence Award 1-5 seats). The best of the second division will receive the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award. The meat quality and amount of unsaturated fatty acids are measured and judged. This is the 71st time, and it was held on Sunday, November 10, 2020 at the Kobe City Central Wholesale Market (Nagata Ward, Kobe).
