“Aika Sawaguchi Photo Essay  Life in Sawaguchi” ( Tokyo News Service) Photography by Kojiro Hosoi Since winning the Grand Prix at “Miss Magazine 2018”, she has taken the gravure world by storm and established herself as the “Gravure Queen of Reiwa”. Aika Sawaguchi . This summer, she played the lead role in the drama series “Sabae to Yattara Endu” (TOKYO MX), and her acting has become a hot topic, and she is expanding her range of activities. About two years ago, we approached the queen of the gravure world about publishing a series of shocking essays, saying that she would not publish any gravure photos. The series began with great success, and the theme changed every month, capturing her daily life in writing. Then, in the “B.L.T. December 2024 issue” released in October, a total of 25 articles were written, and it has been decided that it will be published as “Sawaguchi Aika Photo Essay  Sawaguchi Life.” The theme of the newly written essay for the book is “gravure.” Looking back on the six years she spent as “Aika Sawaguchi,” she summarizes the conflicts, changes, and connections she made with the people she met through her candid words. In addition, there is also a two-part gravure featuring her current base in Tokyo and her hometown in Nagoya. In the Tokyo edition, Aika Sawaguchi’s true nature is shown through swimsuit gravure photos, such as walking on the beach in a fantastical setting of the morning sun, and facing the cameraman directly in a brightly lit studio. On the other hand, in the Nagoya edition, he was photographed wearing the furisode he wore at his coming-of-age ceremony in his favorite hometown, which he said was “the thing I left behind in life,” and he talked with the staff at a local izakaya, revealing his emotions. Each photographer captured Aika Sawaguchi’s “current location”, including shots of Sawaguchi in action and with her shoulders even more relaxed than usual. And the cover image that was released today features a photo that captures her directly. Both the regular version and the Amazon limited cover version have outstanding proportions and expressiveness, giving off the presence of a “Reiwa gravure queen.”
