Event overview An artist-in-residence program by The Chain Museum, which operates the art communication platform “ArtSticker,” provides a place for artists with high expectations for their creative activities. The purpose of this program is to support the production of up-and-coming artists and to help promote domestic art and culture. By immersing themselves in a quiet environment rich in nature, which is different from their usual place of production, the artists staying in residence will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in their work and find new creative perspectives and inspiration that they have never seen before. Fukami’s paintings draw in the hearts of viewers with their fantastical motifs and bright colors, as if they were looking into the world of a picture book. The layers of deep colors carefully layered over and over again seem to express Fukami’s unique sensibilities and complex emotions hidden within,
reinterpreting modern reality. He is a young artist who is currently attracting even more attention, as he is actively working while enrolled in the 6th Master’s Laboratory at Tokyo University of the Arts, and will be included in a museum collection in 2024. Artist profile
