Now, that’s tough. First, we looked back on the history of Ginza, walked around the city, and scanned the facades of buildings along the streets from one end to the other. I wanted to create something that would be commonplace 100 years from now, even though it was something different from any of those things. Once completed, the Ginza Takagi Building surpasses the five-storied pagoda of Toji Temple for the first time in 380 years and is currently the tallest wooden high-rise building in Japan.
