The following year, he won the 37th Izumi Kyoka Literary Award for the same work. He won the 20th Shima Kiyoshi Romance Literature Award in 2013 for Atokata, the 6th Junichi Watanabe Literary Award for “Scent of a Transparent Night” in 2021, and the 168th Naoki Prize for “Shirogane no Ha” in 2013. He is the author of many books, including “Hikinami”, “The Scent of the Red Moon”, “Marie”, “Griffith’s Wound”, “Running with Thunder”, and the food essay series “Bad Foods”.
