Sapporo Group Logistics Co., Ltd., a group company of Sapporo Holdings Co., Ltd., is collaborating with the Suntory Group to provide switch transport (Note 1) for some of the transportation between Gunma Prefecture and Okayama Prefecture. (Note 2) will start from November 13th. Previously, Sapporo Group Logistics Co., Ltd. and the Suntory Group had each arranged trucks to transport products on the outbound route between Gunma Prefecture and Okayama Prefecture. was an issue. Pokka Sapporo Food & Beverage Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Pokka Sapporo”), a group company of Sapporo Holdings Co., Ltd., and the Suntory Group will supply Pokka Sapporo beverages and food products on the outbound route between Gunma and Okayama prefectures. We have established a round-trip transportation scheme for transporting Suntory beverage products and other products. Incorporating this scheme is expected to reduce the number of trucks operated by both companies by approximately 150 per year, and reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 45 tons (Note 3). In addition to the above-mentioned round-trip transportation, switch transportation (Note 1) will be carried out using a relay method at three locations in Saitama, Shizuoka, and Osaka prefectures for both round-trip routes, which will improve transportation efficiency and allow drivers to travel long distances. This will lead to shorter transportation time and reduced labor burden. The Sapporo Group aims to achieve both “realization of a sustainable society” and
“sustainable growth for the group” under its sustainability policy, “Creating smiles from the beginning, together with the earth.” Among our sustainability priority issues (Note 4), we have positioned “realizing a decarbonized society” as one of our top priorities, and we are also working to reduce CO2 emissions in logistics, the process of transporting products. We are also promoting joint transportation with other companies (Note 6) and modal shift initiatives (Note 7) in order to solve various issues related to the 2024 Logistics Problem (Note 5). In addition to this initiative, the Sapporo Group will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by solving various problems related to logistics and reducing CO2 emissions.
