Iris Ohyama Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, President and CEO: Akihiro Oyama) announced on November 14, 2024, in conjunction with the construction of a new “Okayama Setouchi Factory” in the 2nd Miyashita Industrial Park in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture. On the same day, we concluded a location agreement and comprehensive partnership agreement with Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture. Miyashita Industrial Park No. 2, where the “Okayama Setouchi Factory” is scheduled to be built, is located in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, located in the southeastern part of the prefecture, and has excellent access to major roads such as the Okayama Blue Line, National Route 2, and the Sanyo Expressway. Therefore, in May 2021, our company entered into a location memorandum with Setouchi City for the purpose of constructing a factory that will serve as a manufacturing and logistics base for the Chugoku/Shikoku region and all of western Japan. Initially, the plant was scheduled to produce home appliances, but the plant will now produce packaged rice, which is in high demand both domestically and internationally, and will operate as a production and logistics base for the Chugoku and Shikoku regions. ■Comprehensive cooperation agreement Agreement details This agreement is for Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, and our company to collaborate by utilizing mutual resources, and to develop local communities, solve problems, and develop human resources, including disaster prevention and mitigation, promotion of local industries, and sustainable town development.
