Heinz Japan receives the highest rating of “Gold” for 4 consecutive years in the “PRIDE Index”, which evaluates LGBTQ initiatives Heinz Japan Co., Ltd. Press release: November 14, 2024 Heinz Japan receives the highest rating of “Gold” for 4 consecutive years in the “PRIDE Index” that evaluates LGBTQ initiatives On November 14, 2024, Heinz Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taito-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Stephen Briggs) received the highest rating of “Gold” in the “PRIDE Index”, an index of LGBTQ initiatives by the general incorporated association work with Pride. We are pleased to announce that we have received the award for the fourth consecutive year. ■Heinz Japan’s main initiatives Our company has established gender transition guidelines in various regulations and welfare programs, including for common-law marriages and same-sex partners.
Additionally, when the head office is relocated at the end of 2024, we plan to install multipurpose restrooms that can be used by employees and external customers. We strive to create a work environment where all genders can work with peace of mind. ■Allies in the workplace Based on the understanding we have cultivated thus far, this year we have put particular effort into visualizing internal allies so that employees can take action themselves. We held a charity auction at an in-house event and announced that all bids would be donated to external LGBTQ support organizations, attracting many participants and supporters. In particular, the leadership team themselves exhibited their products and enlivened the event, increasing attention and demonstrating within the company their support for sexual minorities. Furthermore, based on feedback from employees who have participated in past initiatives, we created and distributed ally badges with original designs to employees who declared themselves as allies. Based on the glass bottle of Tomato Ketchup, our iconic product, the special rainbow-colored ally badge is a special ally badge that can be worn on lanyards or bags worn within the company to show allyship and promote psychological safety in the workplace. I tried to improve my sexuality. ■We demand diversity.
