Yoshinoya Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yoshinoya), Demae-kan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Demae-kan), and Panasonic Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Panasonic HD) operate a food service in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture that delivers Yoshinoya menu items to residences using automatic delivery robots. Delivery service demonstration will be conducted from November 15th to November 21st, 2024. In this demonstration, all residences in Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town (hereinafter referred to as “Fujisawa SST”) will receive the Yoshinoya Shonan Shindo Tsujido store’s menu items ordered through the Demae-can app using Panasonic HD’s automated transport robot “Hakobo.” Delivered using As lifestyles undergo major changes following the coronavirus pandemic, the use of takeout and delivery is expanding in the restaurant industry. At Yoshinoya, we are promoting the use of delivery so that more people can use it more easily without being constrained by location or environment, and we will continue to actively use new technology to further improve convenience in the future. Demae-kan, which provides delivery services, has a vision of “life infrastructure that connects the happiness of local people.” In order to contribute to solving social issues such as food access issues and labor shortages, and to contribute to the realization of a society where products can be delivered to all kinds of people, we are conducting demonstration experiments of automatic transportation using robots. Panasonic HD is working to commercialize services that utilize automated transport robots to address the labor shortage caused by the declining birthrate and aging population, and has been implementing product delivery services in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
