PARCO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter PARCO) will hold an event at GALLERY We are holding an exhibition called “Kodoku no Gourmet Expo” to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the popular food manga “Kodoku no Gourmet”. “Kodoku no Gourmet” is a monumental food manga that has celebrated its 30th anniversary since its serialization. From October 2024, the 11th drama series “Each Solitary Gourmet” will start, and in January 2025, the first movie “Geki Eiga Solitary Gourmet” will be released. It is still showing great excitement. Therefore, now that we have reached the 30th anniversary of the series, we are holding an exhibition called “Solitary Gourmet Expo” where many people can once again experience the charm of the original manga. At the venue, high-definition reproductions of the original paintings created for this exhibition will be displayed in the following sections: “Goro Inogashira’s Famous Lines,” “Charming Characters,” and “Goro and Meals.” In addition to the original art exhibition, there are photo spots where you can enter the world of the manga, a “chronology” where you can look back on the history from the original work to the drama and film adaptation, and an exhibition of costumes worn by Yutaka Matsushige in the drama. The contents of the exhibition allow you to experience the charm of “Solitary Gourmet.” To commemorate the exhibition, original goods featuring the original manga will be sold at the venue. Additionally, during the event period, on Sunday, January 12th, we will host a special one-day event with luxurious guests. Solitary gourmet A hard-boiled gourmet manga written by Masayuki Kusumi and illustrated by Jiro Taniguchi. The film depicts the main character, Goro Inogashira, who runs an imported goods business, eating alone. It was serialized in the magazine Monthly PANJA (published by Fusosha, currently out of print) from 1994 to 1996. After that, it was revived in “Weekly SPA!”, and new works were published in an irregular series until 2015 (illustrator Jiro Taniguchi passed away in 2017).
