This work was broadcast on NHK Educational Television from 1999 to 2000 and became popular. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the anime broadcast, a key visual drawn by the original designer Kia Asamiya has been released!

We received comments from the original idea, Kia Asamiya, and the character designer, Fumie Muroi. [Comment from Kia Asamiya] This work started with just two people, the producer, writing bullet points on one A4 page. A girl who plays various roles in the cyber world based on the motif of Hakkenden. When I was a kid, I loved Shinpachikenden, which aired on NHK, and I had worked on several magical girl titles as a staff member, so it was fun to work on it. After passing through several planning meetings, it finally saw the light of day. And here is the “Collector Yui” that everyone knows. I want you to access Comnet now! [Comment from Fumie Muroi] Collector Yui is still a cell animation in the analog era, so the dialogue is gibberish. Around this time, I had never heard computer terms that are now commonplace. Even though it’s a rather old-fashioned transformation magical girl-style anime, the unconventional story still makes it an anime that can be enjoyed by men and women of all ages. When I look back at the captions, I realize that there are a lot of amazing people

This year, the 25th anniversary of the start of television broadcasting, we will deliver a digitally remastered version. Prime Video’s “NHK Children’s Park” is scheduled to begin distributing the first series from December 25th and the second series from February 2025.

The world was connected by a computer network called “Comnet,” and everything could be done in virtual space. This Comnet was managed by a huge host computer called “Grosser”, but one day, Grosser began to have ambitions to control the humans of the real world and rule the world. Dr. Inukai, the developer of Comnet, completes the control program “Collector” to stop Grosser, but is immediately attacked by Grosser. The Doctor disassembled the Collector into eight pieces of software and released them into Comnet. Yui Kasuga, a second-year junior high school student who is not good at computers, happens to come across one such software, IR.
