Indeed, color has been a central element since their earliest projects. From the iconic architecture of Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, such as the Esprit Nouveau Pavilion and the La Roche House, to their furniture, first unveiled at the Salon d’Automne in Paris in 1929, color has always played an important role. While these designs are typically thought of in black and white, they actually utilized a variety of hues. In addition to being an architect, Le Corbusier was also a painter and constantly focused on the study of color. His research into color combinations aimed to create balance and visual harmony, creating hues that harmonize with their surroundings. Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret shared a similar interest in color, which is reflected in the furniture they developed, with finishes that interact with each other and the spaces in which they are placed. In 1978, Charlotte Perriand expanded on this research for Cassina, introducing the first colored frames to the I Maestri collection. Cassina has since continued to pursue this vision in collaboration with the Le Corbusier Foundation, Charlotte Perriand and the heirs of Pierre Jeanneret.

The 2 Fauteuil Grand Confort, petit modele and 3 Fauteuil Grand Confort, grand modele are upholstered in soft mohair velvet, while the 1 Fauteuil dossier basculant and 4 Chaise longue a reglage continu are upholstered in premium saddle leather. Selected for its durability and abrasion resistance, the saddle leather is attached by Cassina artisans to the frame, with the back secured by a continuous, small steel piece. Particular attention has been paid to the finest details, such as the headrest of the chaise longue, which is finished in tonal Bulgarian red, ocean blue, and forest green leather, creating a perfect harmony with the seat. Guaranteed Authenticity Cassina’s relationship with Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand dates back to 1964. That year, Cassina acquired exclusive worldwide rights to reproduce the first four pieces, and production began the following year. Since then, Cassina has been the sole official manufacturer of the three designers’ models, working closely with the Le Corbusier Foundation, Pernette Perriand-Barsac, and Jeanneret’s heirs. With a corporate ethos of innovation, Cassina evolved these models from artisanal handcraft to industrial production processes. Their commercial success has grown alongside Cassina’s international expansion, and these products have firmly established themselves as design icons today. Every model in this collection is engraved with its serial number, the designer’s signature and the collection logo, meticulously engraved into the base of the structure – a testament to the excellence of these timeless masterpieces. 1 Fauteuil dossier basculant, 60 (Fauteuil Dossier Basculant 60) ¥880,000 (tax included) 2 Fauteuil Grand Confort, petit modele, durable, 60 (Fauteuil Grand Confort Petit Model Durable 60) ¥1,650,000 (tax included) 3 Fauteuil Grand Comfort, grand model, durable, 60 (Fauteuil Grand Comfort, Grand Model, Durable, 60) ¥1,760,000 (tax included) 4 Chaise Longue a Reglage Continu, 60 (Chaise Longue a Reglage Continu, 60) ¥1,870,000 (tax included) *Limited time sale until the end of September 2026
