Enjoy the appeal of records as art, as well as the trajectory of the times, which can only be felt through the display of Yokoo’s works. In addition to selling the latest edition and related merchandise commemorating the 25th anniversary of Yokoo Tadanori’s signature series “Y-Junction,” there will also be a talk event.

This exhibition features over 100 works that represent this transition, from the pop-psychedelic graphic works of the 1960s, to the spiritual and symbolic collages of the 1970s, to the painterly expressions of the 1980s and beyond. The aesthetic sense and social atmosphere of the era are embodied in the “mass-produced art” of record and CD jackets. Experience this special space, where each piece resonates as a “visual experience” that transcends music. This exhibition was planned as a “cultural hub for adults,” aiming to organically fuse music and art. Tadanori Yokoo’s record jackets truly represent the intersection of these two cultural realms. Through this project, we hope to encourage visitors to rediscover the artistic allure hidden within the familiar object of record jackets and bring a new perspective to the beauty found in everyday life. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Y-Jiro”: The latest issue and related merchandise will also be on sale

Music has the power to reflect the culture, society, and atmosphere of the times, and I feel like it’s deeply connected to the fundamental aspects of humanity. It transcends logic and gives us something we need simply to “live.” But the entry point into music is often something much simpler, like a hunch that “this cover is cool” or “something about it catches my eye.” I think that even such small triggers can lead to becoming obsessed with a genre you didn’t know existed. That’s why I hope this project will spark an interest in new music through such intuition. So, without getting too complicated, I hope you’ll experience the world of music with your eyes and senses.
