RVCA, a California-based lifestyle brand with roots in art,
skateboarding, surfing, and martial arts, will be hosting “RVCA SKATE,” an event themed “Encounter the culture” that combines skateboarding, art, and food, at the RVCA SHIBUYA STORE for two days, September 19th (Friday) and 20th (Saturday), following on from last year. [A genre-less session where global and local collide] RVCA global riders Kevin “Spanky” Long and Shota Kubo, who will be visiting Japan for this event, RVCA JAPAN riders Kento Takahashi and Ryo Sejiri, who will be participating from Japan, and tie-dye artist D.Y.E. “RVCA SKATE” is a unique and original event that transcends genre boundaries, held with artists like YUKI. [A wide variety of programs and limited-edition items will also be available] A free skate session open to the public, featuring guest riders, held next to the RVCA SHIBUYA STORE. We have a diverse program, including interactive events such as a group art show by Kevin “Spanky” Long, Ryo Sejiri, and D.Y.E. YUKI, a tie-dye workshop, and a food vendor by Shota Kubo. In addition, to commemorate the event, we will be selling specially designed T-shirts and tote bags by Riwaz, a skater and graphic artist based in Melbourne, Australia, who visited Japan in March of this year and held an art show at the store. His father, legendary pro skater Shogo Kubo, famous for his work in Dogtown & Z-Boys, is a second-generation pro skater with deep roots in the skate community.
