Since returning to Japan in 2024, I have been searching for something that can serve as a bridge between the two countries as part of a project to connect the two countries. Then, on a return visit to Byron Bay, Australia, I came across the “Moving Mandala” at a local market. The moment I first saw it, I was captivated by its unique presence and the natural sense of peace that comes from simply looking at it. After speaking directly with the creators, Terry and Cloudy, we became convinced that the work would fit deeply into Japanese life and resonate with the hearts of many people, and so we decided to bring it to Japan. ■Brand introduction “Moving Mandala” was created by the artist duo Terry and Cloudy, based on Australia’s Sunshine Coast. Their brand, Harmonise Life, is an Australian craft brand that promotes “harmonious living” through art. Cherishing the warmth of natural materials and handcrafted craftsmanship, they deliver products that gently embrace the mind and space.
