Pen October 2025 issue (released on 8/28) [Lead] Who is the most noteworthy architect right now? We would unhesitantly recommend the name of Sou Fujimoto. As the venue design producer for the ongoing Osaka-Kansai Expo, Fujimoto is attracting attention not only from within Japan but from around the world. The “Large Roof Ring,” which was realized despite sparking much debate, has become a rare space where people gather to share special moments and experiences. Furthermore, his first large-scale solo exhibition is currently being held at the Mori Art Museum in Roppongi.
