He attended Koryo Junior High School and Taisha High School, where he played second base. At Himeji Dokkyo University, he played as an infielder and pitcher on the semi-hardball baseball team and obtained a teaching license in Japanese (junior high and high school). After graduating from university, he began his teaching career at Hyogo Prefectural Shichi High School. He then returned to Shimane Prefecture to take up a position at Rissho University Shonan High School, where he served as coach and club captain at Izumo Nishi High School from 2006 to 2010. In 2011, he joined his alma mater, Taisha High School, as a Japanese language teacher and also became the baseball coach. In 2016, he transferred to Masuda High School, where he served as advisor for the table tennis club. In 2020, he returned to Taisha, where he served as club captain and then became the head coach in the fall of the same year. In the summer of 2024, he will lead his alma mater to the Summer Koshien (106th National High School Baseball Championship) for the first time in 32 years. Thanks to the efforts of ace left-handed pitcher Yuta Banba (Toyo University) and others, the school advanced to the top eight.
