At Kabashima’s request, popular photographer Kawashima Kotori took the photos, bringing the “emotional distance” to less than 45cm… A desk calendar that weaves a story from a lover’s perspective. KADOKAWA Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Directors: KADOKAWA, CEO: Takeshi Natsuno, will publish the “Kabashima Hikaru Calendar 2026.01-2026.12” (3,000 yen tax) on Friday, November 28, 2025. Pre-orders began today, Friday, August 29, on various sales sites.

(C) Kotori Kawashima Popular actor Hikari Kabashima made her acting debut in the role of Aguilera/Natsuki Hana in “Kamen Rider Revise” (2021-2022, TV Asahi), and has since made her presence felt in a variety of dramas and other shows. This is a 2026 desk calendar starting in January, featuring newly taken photos of her latest work. At Kabashima’s own request, this work was photographed by popular photographer Kawashima Kotori, known for her photo book “Mirai-chan,” which has sold over 130,000 copies. Kabashima, who was inspired by Kawashima’s work after seeing the photobook “Kaze wo Kikaete” (published by Shueisha in 2016) of Nishino Nanase, which Kawashima photographed, is so attached to Kawashima that he even included a homage to “Kaze wo Kikaete” in his first photobook “chouchou” (published by Shueisha in 2024). His desire to create a work with Kawashima, which he had had for over 10 years since before his debut, has now been realized with this work. Unlike typical calendars consisting of 12 seasonal poses, this calendar is filled with Kawashima Kotori’s signature sense of distance, the flow of time, and expressions, making you feel like you’re going on a short summer trip with Kabashima Hikaru. The story takes place in Ushimado, Okayama. The area is home to Venus Road, a miraculous sandy road that connects three islands and appears only at low tide, the quaint Okayama Electric Tramway, the coastal Hotel Limani reminiscent of a
Mediterranean location, a stylish old-style cafe, and a shrine approach with a spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea… Surrounded by calming moments and the refreshing seaside air, this story weaves a 45cm emotional distance, allowing you to virtually experience a journey just the two of you and Kabashima. The distance of 45cm between two people is said to be the dividing line between friendship and romance. We hope you can sense the distance between you and Kabashima gradually shrinking to less than 45cm throughout this work, and the resulting changes in Kabashima’s expressions, gestures, and atmosphere as time passes on the calendar.

This summer feels especially hot, but the memories from this trip are all the more vivid and unforgettable.
