Press Release: August 29, 2025 The man who appeared in the final bid presentation for the World Expo is finally appearing on the EXPO 2025 stage! –Katsura Sunshine, the Canadian Rakugo Artist Who Captivated the World with His Rakugo– On Thursday, September 25, 2025, bilingual rakugo performer Katsura Sunshine will be performing at “Cyberwafu Week” at the Osaka Kansai Expo. The performance will take place at the Pop-Up Stage South from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. And, he’s coming to Japan from the United States, so we’re looking for support!

Completed a Master’s degree in Performing Arts at the Osaka University of Arts Graduate School. A member of the Katsura Bunshi school. Comment: Majored in English literature and classical Greek literature. He is a playwright and composer, and his musical “Clouds” ran for 15 months in Toronto. In Japan, he performed accordion stand-up comedy and English rakugo, and on September 1, 2008, he became a disciple of Katsura Sanshi (now the VI Bunshichi). He became the first Western storyteller in the Kamigata rakugo world. In March 2009, he graduated from the Master’s program at the Graduate School of Performing Arts at Osaka University of Arts. He loves everything Japanese! About Dennou Wafu WEEK: Promoting Japanese performing arts through digital media Cyber-JP Inc. (Headquarters: Kamakura, CEO: Hiroshi Unno) will be holding “Dennou Wafu WEEK” at the Osaka-Kansai Expo from Monday, September 22nd to Saturday, September 27th, 2025.
