In 1999, he made his serial debut as a manga artist without any prior experience of publishing works, working on the illustrations for “GetBackers” (originally written by Yuya Aoki) in Weekly Shonen Magazine. Since 2002, the series has taken the world by storm, being adapted into a TV anime and game, among other media mixes. He has also demonstrated his natural artistic talent in a wide range of fields, including illustrating novels. ▼Comments▼ This is Ayamine, in charge of storyboards. Now that “The Great Sage of 100 Magic Stones” is available, I’m relieved and honored that everyone will be able to read it. While I’ve enjoyed reading Nagatsuki-sensei’s scenario, I’ve struggled with how to best express it. This is my first
vertically-read manga, and my editor has been patient with me through my various trial and error processes. Even though I knew it might cause problems later, I’m very grateful to her for adding lines and colors to the detailed storyboards. I designed the main character, Tori, as an alter ego of Ayamine, and I’ve captured her growth one step at a time in the storyboards. I hope to convey to readers the people she meets and her way of life along the way. We will do our best to leave at least one happy memory in your heart, no matter what Tori and Hige find and feel in this world.
