Kimaguren, who reunited in 2024, is embarking on a new chapter. Based on the story leading up to the formation of Kimaguren, the musical “LIFE – The Story of a Beach House” will be performed at Akasaka RED/THEATER from January 10th (Sat) to 18th (Sun), 2026. Featuring live performances and vocals by Kimaguren, the musical will be based on the story leading up to the band’s formation and will feature live performances and vocals by Kimaguren. This work will allow viewers to see the story of how ISEKI and KUREI felt and experienced what led to the Kimaguren they are today. The script is written by acclaimed playwright Tomoharu Suzuki, who writes and directs for his own theatre company, Gekidan Tokyo Suzuki-ku, and in recent years has written and directed for 2.5-dimensional stage productions and recitation plays, as well as TV anime screenplays. The play will be directed by Taku Yamamoto, head of the Yamamotoya Theatre Company, who specializes in comical yet realistic portrayals of the fundamental contradictions and foolishness that exist within human nature across generations and borders, and who has directed a wide range of works in recent years, including socially conscious works such as “The Clock Tower at 5:47 AM.” Details, including the cast members playing the story’s roles of ISEKI and KUREI, will be announced at a later date.
