lanitech LLC, in collaboration with Japan Post Co., Ltd. Tokai Branch, is hosting the “New Year’s Card and Postcard Design Competition 2025 with Japan Post.” This competition invites submissions for the backs of New Year’s cards and postcards, with the theme of “A card that will make young people want to write a letter to someone,” and aims to preserve the value of letter-writing culture for the future. ■ Theme “Postcards that make young people want to write letters to someone” ─ Two categories: New Year’s Cards and Postcards ■ Recruitment Category New Year’s Card Category Create an exciting, heartwarming design that will make you want to send New Year’s greetings. Postcard Category Create a free-spirited design that conveys the season and your feelings. ■ Eligibility Age and professional/amateur status are not important. Nationality is not an issue. We are open to all applicants. We especially welcome applications from students and young people (high school, university, vocational school students, etc.). ■ Recruitment period Recruitment start: Monday, September 1, 2025 Application deadline: Tuesday, September 30, 2025 ■ How to apply • Upload image data that meets the following requirements using the dedicated application form. • File format: JPG/PNG/PDF (within 10MB). • Size: 100 x 148mm (postcard back size). • Resolution: 300dpi or higher recommended. • There is enough space within the work to write a few lines of message. • Multiple submissions per person are permitted (each work must be submitted separately). • The dedicated application form is available on the official recruitment page. Selected works: Approximately 5 (planned). Grand Prize: One work will be selected from each category. Results announced: Mid-October 2025. Posted on the Creative Garage Hoshigaoka website and social media. ■ Awards/Benefits 100 copies of each winning entry will be printed and distributed as “official postcards” to attendees at the letter-writing experience event venue, where they can actually use them. The winning entry will be exhibited and distributed in a special corner and will also be featured on official social media. ■ New Year’s Card Creation Event and Exhibition of Award-Winning Entries (tentative) (planned) Organized by: Japan Post Co., Ltd. Tokai Branch Event Date and Time: Thursday, December 15th – Friday, December 16th, 2025, 10:00-17:00 Venue: Creative Garage Hoshigaoka (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture) Entry and Exit: Free and Unrestricted In addition to a letter-writing booth, the exhibition hall will have a variety of other offerings. • A letter-writing experience booth (with the option to drop off commemorative letters) is planned. • Coffee stand, coffee, etc. will be available. • Post Kuma plush toy exhibits and multiple post photo spots are planned. • A social media posting campaign (with novelty giveaways) is planned. ■ Notes when applying • The copyright of the submitted work belongs to the creator, but you agree to use it free of charge for the following purposes. • Exhibitions, public relations, commemorative distribution, printing, social media posting, web posting, etc. • When applying, you will be asked to confirm your consent regarding copyright. • Works that may infringe on the rights of others, images automatically generated by AI, and expressions that violate public order and morals will not be considered for judging. • In the unlikely event of a claim of infringement of rights from a third party, the organizer assumes no responsibility. ■
