TheProducers is launching “MOTOKOLOGY” in the same location. We support the project and have decided to open a KOBE satellite to create new value. TheProducers KOBE satellite will feature pop-up shops, art exhibitions, workshops, and more. We will produce a variety of events.

With Motoko scheduled for demolition and
refurbishment in 2026, the art project “MOTOKOLOGY” is about to begin, passing on its memories and value to future generations. MOTOKOLOGY “MOTOKOLOGY” is a coined word combining the common name “Motoko” and the suffix “-logy,” which means scholarship. It aims to reexamine the relationship between place and people and foster new perspectives on the future. Originating from the postwar black market, Motoko has cultivated its own unique culture alongside Kobe’s development, and is home to a diverse range of businesses, including fashion, used records, secondhand bookstores, bars, local Chinese restaurants, and nightlife. This project is organized by Motocology, and involves the participation of Kobe City’s industry, government, academia, and citizens, as well as visiting artists. Event participants and those who pass by Motoco on a daily basis are each the protagonists. By incorporating the diverse perspectives of artists, we will unearth the memories and value accumulated in the space, Through repeated dialogue and experimentation, we will paint a new vision of the future for the next generation.
