entrepreneurs at a restaurant inside Taipei 101. Amid growing social interest in women’s health issues, this program offers a special opportunity to learn about cutting-edge initiatives in Asia. It is open to participation and coverage by femtech-related companies, corporate new business managers, corporate planning departments, HR DEI promotion staff, and media representatives. Background While the femtech market is growing rapidly worldwide, the Japanese market is still small, and challenges remain in terms of business development and social acceptance. Amid this, Taiwan has produced many pioneering examples, such as opening the world’s first menstrual museum, “Period Museum,” and creating Asia’s first absorbent shorts, “MOON PANTS.” Japan boasts some of the highest rates of gender equality in Asia, and is a breeding ground for social acceptance of diverse initiatives, including femtech. Through this tour, we will seek out hints for Japanese companies considering future new business ventures, overseas expansion, and internal initiatives. Visit destination (planned) • The world’s first menstruation museum “Period Museum” The world’s first menstruation-themed museum, opening in 2022. The exhibition covers a wide range of topics, including the history of menstruation, its place in society, and challenges in gender equality, and shows how Taiwanese society is discussing menstruation in public and sharing it as an educational resource. • Sex Education Complex “Sexuality Discontent Room” This complex is a place where everyone, from children to adults, can safely learn about sex education. Through sex education picture books, interactive exhibits, and a variety of workshops, the facility works to “open up learning about sex and health to society as a whole.” • Femtech-related shops and drugstores Absorbent panties and menstrual cups are commonly found on the shelves of local drugstores and femtech specialty shops, and are purchased by a wide range of people, from young people to seniors. • Taiwanese Femtech Startups Taiwanese femtech companies are not only expanding into the domestic market, but also across Asia and Europe. By interacting with local business owners, you can learn firsthand about innovative business models and the realities of international expansion. • Dinner Networking Event at a Restaurant Inside Taipei 101 (Local
Entrepreneurs Will Be Participating) Local femtech entrepreneurs will also be joining the dinner networking event at a restaurant inside Taipei 101, Taiwan’s symbol. Through informal conversation, you can develop partnerships and network. Special Guide: Yaeko Kondo Image
