Prefecture’s history and culture. The year 2025 marks exactly 10 years since the Matsue Castle Tower was designated a National Treasure. To that end, we will be hosting a two-part online series of lectures on medieval Shimane mountain castles, focusing in particular on the Iwami region in western Shimane Prefecture, before the Matsue Castle Tower, a National Treasure, was built.
