COCOLON (operated by EPO, a nonprofit organization based in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo, represented by Erika Saito), which provides learning, play, and information for children with severe physical and mental disabilities and their families and supporters, held an inclusive comedy live show called “Bakuwara” at COCOLON BASE (Edogawa Ward, Tokyo) on Saturday, August 31, 2024. This is a report on the event, which was attended by 22 people from 6 groups. ■Inclusive comedy live Even if an entertainment event is being held nearby, wheelchair seating at venues such as halls and auditoriums is often far from the stage, and there are often diaper changing stations and medical devices, so many people give up on participating. We planned this event with the idea of ​​”an event where children with disabilities and their families can safely experience fun up close.” For this reason, this event was organized as a comedy event that anyone could participate in, regardless of disabilities, medical needs, age, gender, etc. The event is being organized by EPO, a nonprofit organization that operates four child development support and after-school day care centers called “Kokone” in Tokyo. The COCOLON BASE venue, where the event is held, is equipped with all the necessary facilities. There’s no need to worry about medical care, power supplies for medical devices, or diaper changes.

With their friendly demeanor and special skills, they created a bright, cheerful, and laughing atmosphere with their line, “Let’s think about it, Jounan.” Second up was Inu Connection (Watanabe Entertainment). Their well-known and unique character, “Nukehiko Namakinoki,” brought the audience together with a call-and-response routine and a convenience store skit! Both adults and children were filled with laughter.

The final act was Hotaruika Yamato (Watanabe Entertainment), who appeared solo on the show after his partner, Bad Nice’s Tsuneda, canceled his appearance that day. He showed off his style of making jokes and puns related to baseball.
