6-member idol groupSAKURA On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, GURADUATION unveiled new costumes created in collaboration with Nagoya Mode Gakuen and debuted their new song, “Seishun no Kakera.” This project was made possible through industry-academia collaboration with Nagoya Mode Gakuen, which cultivates work-ready talent in a wide range of fields, including fashion, design, business, and beauty. Students from the Fashion Design and Fashion Technology departments were in charge of the design and pattern production, and after interviewing the members and researching the image of the song, they created innovative costumes that combine the group’s support concept with the worldview of the song. Students were also in charge of hair and makeup on the day and produced the entire event In addition, hair and makeup on the day were handled by students from the Makeup and Nail Arts Department and the Hair and Makeup Artist Department, who produced the entire event, including the costumes. The event began with a fashion show, where the members walked down the runway in collaborative costumes, while a video of the production process was played on the stage monitor. The members, looking both glamorous and cool, received thunderous applause from the audience.

Masataka Sano of the Department of Fashion Technology shared his thoughts on the creation, saying, “The main theme was ‘support,’ so I created this costume while imagining people wearing it and giving courage to many people. I tried to make the design unique.” The members also expressed their joy, saying, “I was so happy when I put on the finished costume (Mirei),” “I love the student-like design, with its navy color, gold buttons, and headband-style ribbon (Anon),” and “The ease of dancing and attention to detail make me feel warm and fuzzy (Aira).” The members also expressed their gratitude for the students’ consideration, saying, “Not only is the design cute, but the intricate details make it look intricate, and it’s easy to put on and take off. We often have to change clothes quickly during performances, so we were really touched by their thoughtfulness.”

Lili: “I wanted a design that would flatter my shoulders, and I heard from fans that they like outfits that show their belly buttons, so I kept that in mind.” HITOMI: “The waistband and skirt length enhance her figure, and the ribbon emphasizes HITOMI’s cuteness.” Aira: “The theme was a balance of coolness and cuteness. I chose the material with ease of movement and range of motion in mind.” ・ Aoi: “I used plenty of gathers and frills to create an idol-like look. She also likes the volume in the arms and skirt.” Mirei: “I based it on a formal style befitting a leader, and added a touch of cuteness with the ribbon.” Anon: “I chose a simple design that shows off her great figure, added movement to the sleeves, and shortened the skirt to give it an idol-like feel.” Students also spoke of the difficulties and joys of the production process, saying, “We made numerous prototypes to get closer to the ideal shape, taking into account elements that we don’t usually consider, such as arm movement and strength. I was impressed by how each piece’s
individuality came out even at the fitting stage.” In addition, a talk session was held on the theme of “youth” in relation to the new song “Seishun no Kakera,” where the band members and students shared stories and thoughts about their youth. The intersection of their perspectives further highlighted the significance of this
collaboration. A total of five songs were performed during the live performance in the second half. “Kimi wa Battera,” their
self-introduction song “SAKURA GRADUATION,” “SAKURA FRAVOR” released this spring, their debut song “Shigekiteki VIVID!!,” and “Seishun no Kakera,” the song they performed with their collaboration costumes, were all performed for the first time. “Seishun no Kakera” is a fast-paced cheer song that’s centered around the group’s theme of “support,” and is packed with the sparkle and energy of youth. This song breaks new ground for SAKURA GRADUATION, expressing the struggles felt in chasing dreams, the bonds with friends, and the youthful energy of cherishing every moment through an invigorating rock melody and powerful chorus. In the chorus, the powerful lyrics sing, “Run! Chase the pieces of your youth that are rolling before your eyes,” and “Hurry! Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! You can do anything,” sending a message of encouragement to listeners. The straightforward lyrics, vocals, and dance moves performed in collaborative costumes captivated the audience. This song, which allows the audience to share a moment of youth, is expected to become one of SAKURA GRADUATION’s signature songs. The concert ended with “Seishun no Kakera,” and the venue erupted in thunderous applause and cheers. This industry-academia collaboration, a fusion of fashion and music, concluded on a high note.
This collaboration costume and “Seishun no Kakera” will also be showcased at upcoming live shows and events.
