The “2025 K-Musical Roadshow in TOKYO,” showcasing original Korean musicals, has been announced. It will be performed at Hulic Hall Tokyo on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Cast members and staff from five Korean musicals will be visiting Japan, and a digest of famous scenes will be presented. Original Korean musicals are attracting attention from around the world, with “Maybe Happy Ending” winning six awards at this year’s Tony Awards, including Best Musical. In recent years, nearly 10 Korean musicals have been translated and performed in Japan each year, garnering popularity as Korean content. Additionally, a steady stream of new works, such as the musicals “Misaeng” and “Itaewon Class,” are being produced in collaboration with Korean creators (original authors, screenwriters, composers, and directors) and Japanese production companies. “K-Musical Roadshow” was launched in 2016 to promote Korean musicals to the world. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea, the Korea Arts Management Center is a national arts support organization specializing in the performing arts, providing planning support, overseas business, research and development, and consulting. This will be the second time the center has hosted the event in Japan, following a Tokyo event in December 2023. The center’s “K-Musical Market” invites producers from Europe, the United States, China, Japan, and other countries to Korea to introduce and interact with original Korean musicals. Various initiatives are being implemented to promote original Korean musicals as Korean content overseas. This time “2025 K-Musical Roadshow in “TOKYO” will bring the staff and cast of five productions that passed the screening process in Korea to Japan. Talented actors from Daehangno, the mecca of Korean theater, will perform a 20-minute digest of each production. A networking event for Japanese and Korean producers will follow the performance. This event will allow you to fully appreciate the diversity and richness of original Korean musicals. Following on from the previous event, actor Kazuki Kato, who has appeared in Korean musicals and frequently attends them locally, will serve as the host.
