The musical choir “Backroom Boys” was formed in 2020 with the passionate desire to “sing musicals together!” It is a unique mixed choir specializing in musical ensembles and choruses. Though founded in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the choir has performed with various musical actors every year, accumulating stage experience. This, the seventh performance, will be themed around “musicals and choruses,” and will feature a number of musical numbers with powerful backing choruses. Focusing on large-scale pieces that would be difficult to perform in a regular concert, the powerful chorus and elite soloists will bring you stunning vocals. In addition to the Backroom Boys ensemble, led by conductor Shoji Izumi, this performance will feature a stellar lineup of soloists. Among them will be Miyuki Numao, a leading figure in the musical world known for her roles as the heroine in numerous Shiki Theatre Company productions, including Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, and Beauty and the Beast. In addition, the stage will be graced by a talented cast including Yamazaki Soichiro, Machida Shinnosuke, Yoshitake Daichi, Shiratori Mitsuka, and Yoshioka Hanae, all of whom have appeared in famous productions such as Shiki Theatre Company’s “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” Toho’s “Les Miserables,” and Asari Production Agency’s “Li Xianglan.”
