[Nitetsu Group] “Music Train 2025” to run on Saturday, September 27th!
Nishitsu Group Press release: September 2, 2025 To Members of the Press “Music Train 2025” to run on Saturday, September 27th! Last year’s hugely popular Music Train is back, more powerful than ever! Nishitetsu Railroad will be running a “Music Train” between Hanabatake Station and Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station on Saturday, September 27, 2025, allowing passengers to enjoy live classical music on board the train. This train will be running for the second time, following last year’s service, which was well received by many customers. This train will run as a pre-event for the music event “MUSIC CITY TENJIN 2025” (hereinafter “MCT”), which will be held on September 27th and 28th. On the day, a stellar lineup including members of the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra (Kyushu Symphony Orchestra), Kyushu’s only professional orchestra, and former Kyushu Symphony Orchestra violist Norimichi Yamashita, also known as “Yama-chan,” will perform in six carriages, offering a string quartet and violin duo performance. This year, we’ll be using carriages with long seats to create an even greater sense of unity between the performers and the audience. As a new initiative, the train will stop at the Chikugo River Bridge for five minutes, allowing passengers to enjoy the extraordinary experience of viewing the magnificent scenery of the Chikugo Plain while listening to a professional performance. As a special gift for boarding, passengers will receive a special decorated chocolate set exclusive to this train. On the day of the event, the Kyushu University Philharmonic Orchestra will hold a “Mini Classical Music Concert” at Tokimeki Square in Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station from noon, welcoming passengers aboard the Music Train with wonderful music. After enjoying classical music on the train and in the stations, be sure to visit one of the MCTs being held at various locations in Tenjin. Through the operation of the Music Train and the holding of Mini Classical Concerts, we strive to raise awareness of Tenjin as a “City of Music” and create excitement in the town. We also aim to make Nishitetsu trains a beloved train for the local community for many years to come.
