Vector Vision Inc. will be co-hosting an exhibition of works by Shoji Kawamori, creator of numerous masterpieces such as “Macross” and “Aquarion,” at the EXPO ’70 Pavilion in Expo Commemoration Park, hosted by Expo Commemoration Park Management Partners. This grand exhibition traces the creative path of Kawamori, who also serves as the theme project producer for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. The venue showcases everything from his masterpieces to his latest projects through rare three-dimensional exhibits and setting materials. In particular, the impact that 10-year-old Kawamori felt at the 1970 Osaka Expo, and the chain of creativity that continues to 2025, are recreated through dioramas and video presentations. A portion of “Adventures of Life,” the signature pavilion for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, produced by Kawamori, will also be on special display in a way that can only be seen here. In addition, the “Featured Project” will showcase a collection of works that embody Kawamori’s signature “combination and transformation” creative activities. The character designs were created by Risa Ebata, who worked with Kawamori on Macross F. The story revolves around two protagonists: Shiori, who is trapped in a labyrinth inside her smartphone, and her “other self,” SHIORI, who begins to go out of control in the real world of Yokohama.
