The tournament, the highest level in Japan’s WTA 500 tennis
tournament, debuted in 1984 as Asia’s first international women’s tournament and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Past winners include stars representing the era, such as Marco Navratilova, Sara Graf, Kimiko Date, Marco Hingis, Marco Sharapova, and Naomi Osaka. WOWOW is currently broadcasting the final Grand Slam of the season, the US Open, live every day. Additionally, the network will be exclusively broadcasting the Laver Cup Men’s Tennis Team Tournament, Europe vs. World, kicking off on Saturday, September 20th, live for three days. The show then shifts to Japan, with the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis kicking off on Wednesday, September 24th, featuring C.
