Konoike Construction Co., Ltd. Press Release: September 3, 2025 Konoike Gumi will hold an art event at Kurashiki City Hall, “Parents and Children! Construction Site Temporary Fence Art!” Special event for local elementary school students and their parents Konoike Gumi Co., Ltd. Hiroshima Branch (Naka-ku, Hiroshima City, Executive Officer, Hiroshima Branch Manager, Omoto) Ichijo) will be holding an outdoor art event for elementary school students and their parents in the city at the Kurashiki City Hall Reorganization and Development Project (Administrative Zone Development)
(commissioned by Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture), which is currently under construction. ■Event details Konoike Gumi is currently working on the construction of a new disaster prevention building ordered by Kurashiki City, as well as renovations of the existing main building. The new disaster prevention building is being constructed with an eye toward responding to a Nankai Trough earthquake, maintaining the building’s disaster prevention capabilities even in the event of a major disaster. The renovation of the existing main building, completed in 1980 (Showa 55), aims to reduce the building’s environmental impact and address shortages in meeting room space, etc. As part of this reorganization and development project, we will be holding an outdoor art event in which 25 pairs of elementary school students and their parents from the city will be invited to draw art directly on temporary panels separating the construction site from the outside world, with the aim of revitalizing the local community and promoting children’s development. On the day, children will be invited to freely draw their dreams and favorite things using Kurashiki City’s flower, wisteria, as a motif, under a lecture from Professor Koichi Nakagawa and students from Kurashiki University of Science and the Arts.
