participants compete across three elements: roasting, brewing, and presentation. Roasting: Maximizing the potential flavor of the ingredients Extraction: Maximizing the flavorful characteristics brought out by roasting Presentation: Expression based on your own story or theme This is not just a roasting technique competition, but a comprehensive competition that evaluates “how well you deliver a cup of coffee to people.” The final tournament will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Tokyo Culture Culture in Shibuya. ■ Details of the Preliminary and Final Competitions Preliminary Round: Scientific evaluation of technical skills simulating the roasting of model beans (FT-IR and gas chromatography) Final Round: Drink creation within 15 minutes presentation based on this year’s theme, “What you think about coffee now and in the future” ■ About the Judging In the finals, participants will be evaluated comprehensively based on the
completeness of their drink, presentation content, and expressiveness. The participant with the best presentation will be awarded the title of “1st Crack Coffee Challenge 2025 Champion.”
