Jimbocho Theater, a classic movie theater in the book town, screens classic Japanese films on film, highlighting works from various angles, such as directors, actors, and themes. Starting Saturday, September 27th, they will be holding a special screening, “Toho 90s Romantic Comedy Paradise,” to commemorate the first Blu-ray and DVD releases. The four films being screened this time are “Hong Kong Paradise,” an adventure comedy filmed overseas starring comedienne Yuki Saito, who blossomed as a comedienne; “Love!”, a love comedy starring idol Wakako Shimazaki as an unforgettable and charming heroine; “A Bouquet for Old Lady Yamada,” starring Kuniko Yamada, who has been a leading figure in the television industry since the 1980s as the queen of variety shows; and “I Want to Bite,” a unique horror comedy starring renowned actor Ken Ogata as a dull Dracula. These four films are being released on Blu-ray and DVD for the first time, making them truly legendary masterpieces that have never been widely seen before. This “Dream Week” will allow you to see these four films on 35mm film and on the big screen. During this period, on Tuesday, September 30th, a talk show and autograph session will be held with lead actress Wakako Shimazaki and director Takayoshi Watanabe in conjunction with the screening of “Suki!”! 35 years after its release, please come and join us for this truly miraculous event.
